Norton Internet Security Broke My Network.

I have my computer network at home setup so that I can print from either computer and share files between them. I recently tried installing Norton Internet Security (NIS). The next thing I knew I couldn't print or share files between the two computers. In other words NIS broke my home network.

There are a bunch of setting that you can change within NIS that allow for printer and file sharing. But, they are turned off by default. I was finally able to get my printer and file sharing to work, but it was a lot of trouble. I don't know how the average person would be able to figure this out! I am now thinking that NIS is more trouble than it is worth. I'm going back to using just Norton AntiVirus (NAV), or just disabling the firewall settings.

I remember seeing a similar problem happen with my parents' computer. At that time, I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I guess that I know now.
